Snow Foam Paint

Snow Foam Paint looks like real snow and dries to a plastic foam-like finish


What you Need

  • 1 cup white school glue
  • 1 cup white shaving cream



How to Make it

  1. Mix shaving cream & glue together in a small bowl
  2. Let mixture set for 2 mintues
  3. Use a brush to paint with Snow Foam Paint



Tips & Ideas
  • Add a few drops of food coloring to Snow Foam Paint and create colorful pictures
  • Dip foam balls into snow foam paint to create snowmen and other snow-like sculptures

Roller Ball Paint

You'll have fun while painting amazing works of art with marbles



What you Need


  • Marbles
  • 2 Tbs. liquid tempera paint
  • Plastic cup
  • Large sallow pan or pie tin
  • Paper



How to Do it

  1. Pour Tempera paint into the plastic cup.
  2. Gently drop 3-4 marbles into the paint
  3. Place a sheet of paper inside the pan so it is laying flat on the bottom.
  4. Spoon out the paint covered marbles form the cup and into the pan.
  5. Tilt the pan side to side to create your marble paint design. Let the paint dry before handling the paper.


Tips & Ideas
  • Use Marble paint to create greeting cards, wrapping paper, party invitations, and stationary.
  • Try using differant colors on the same sheet of paper.

Bath Time Paint Soap

With this wild creation, you can paint your body & get clean at the same time



What you Need

  • 1/4 cup liquid baby bath
  • 1 Tbs. cornstarch
  • 2-3 drops food coloring
  • Platic ice cube tray



How to Create It
  1. Mix liquid baby bath and cornstarch together until blended.
  2. Add 2-3 drops food coloring.
  3. Pour the mixture into a plastic ice cube tray and paint.



Tips & Ideas

  • Use a paint brush to paint your body and the side of the bathtub.
  • This paint also makes a great finger paint when used on wax paper.

Frozen Paint

Budding young artists will enjoy painting with these frozen paint pops



What you Need

  • 2 Tsp. Powdered tempera paint
  • 1/3 cup water
  • Wax coated paper cup
  • Craft stick
  • Plastic wrap



How to Make It
  1. Mix powder tempera paint and water together.
  2. Pour mixture into a wax coated paper cup.
  3. Cover the cup with plastic wrap, then insert a craft stick through the plastic wrap into the center of the cup.
  4. Put cup in freezer and freeze until solid.
  5. Remove the paper cup & plastic wrap from the frozen paint.
  6. Dip the frozen paint in water and paint on white paper.

    Tips & Ideas
    • Make frozen paint in ice cube rays instead of wax paper cups.
    • Use this paint to create cool wrapping paper & greting cards

Homeade Spray Paint

This homeade spray paint is great for painting cool pictures, large signs, & banners.



What you Need
  • 1 Tbs. powder tempera paint
  • 1 cup water
  • Spray Bottle



How to Make It

  1. Mix paint and water together in small bowl
  2. Pour mixture into spray bottle & paint.
  3. Shake the spray paint bottle before each use

Paint with Popcorn

Use popcorn paint just like you would use paint or crayons to color your favorite pictures.



What you Need
  • 1 cup popped popcorn
  • 2 Tbs. water
  • 5-7 drops of food coloring
  • large plastic ziplock bag
  • White school glue



How to Make It
  1. Pour popcorn into a large ziplock bag.
  2. Mix food coloring & water together & then pour the mixture on top of the popcorn
  3. Seal the bag & shake it until the popcorn changes color
  4. Pour the popcorn out on a paper towel to dry.
  5. Use popcorn paint by filling the area you want to color with glue & then cover the glue with the popcorn paint. Let picture dry for 24 hours before moving or hanging it.

    Tips & Ideas
    • Use Popcorn paint to create unique greeting cards and decorate gift boxes
    • Make interesting ornaments and mobiles by cutting shapes out of cardboard & covering them with popcorn paint. Hang your ornament or mobile up by poking a hole through it & then tying a piece of string or yarn through the hole.

Glass Paint

This project works just like expensive store bought glass paints


What you Need
  • 1/4 cup white school glue
  • 1/4 cup liquid tempera paint



How to Make it
  1. Mix glue and tepera paint together in a small bowl.
  2. Use a paint brush to apply glass paint to the surface you wish to paint.
  3. Let painted items dry overnight before using.
  4. Dried glass paint can be removed using a razor blade.



Tips & Ideas
  • Give new life to old vases and jars b painting them.
  • Remove the lable from an old peanut butter jar and paint it to create a really cool pen or pencil holder

Invisible Paint

What you Need
  • 1 Tbs. baking soda
  • 2 Tbs. water
  • 4-6 drops food coloring
  • Paintbrush
  • Paper



How to Make it
  1. Mix 1 Tbs. water & 1 Tbs. baking soda together.
  2. Dip your paintbrush into the baking soda water mixture and then write your mystery message on a sheet of paper.
  3. Let the message completely dry.
  4. To reveal your message, mix together the remaining 1 Tbs water and 4-6 drops food coloring.
  5. Using a brush, paint the water and food coloring mixture over the invisible message. Your message will be revealed.

What you Need
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2Tbs. (2 envelopes) unsweetened drink mix
  • 1/2 cup salt
  • 3 cups hot water
  • 3 Tbs cooking oil
  • Freezer paper



How to Make it
  1. Mix flour, drink mx, & salt together.
  2. Stir in water & cooking oil.
  3. Paint on the shiny side of the freezer paper.

Sparkle Salt Paint

This project lets you turn regular table salt into beautiful, sparkling wors of art.


What you Need
  • 2 Tbs. table salt
  • 1/2 Tbs. powder tempera paint
  • white school glue
  • ziplock bag



How to Make it
  1. Pour salt and tempera paint into the ziplock bag and shake.
  2. Repeat the above process to create salty paint in differant colors.
  3. Draw a picture on a sheet of paper using the white school glue.
  4. Sprinkle the salt stuff on top of the glue, then carefully shake off any excess salt.
  5. Let the paint dry overnight before you touch it.



Tips & Ideas
  • Pour differant colored layers of salt paint in an old baby food jar to create faux sand art.
  • Give your salty paint a little more pizzazz by mixing in 1 tsp. of glitter

This paint dries to a shiny, trasparent finish.


What you Need
  • 1/4 cup corn syrup
  • 4-6 drops food coloring
  • 1 Tbs. glitter



How to Make it
  1. Mix corn syrup & food coloring together in a small container.
  2. Slowly stir in glitter to avoid clumping.
  3. Use a brush to paint on a sheet of paper.
  4. Let your finished shiny paint pictures dry for 24 hours.

  • 1/2 cup powder nonfat milk
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 6-8 drops food coloring



How to Make it
  1. Mix milk, water, & food coloring together in a small bowl.
  2. Repeat the above step seeral times to create differant colors of glossy paint.
  3. glossy paint dries in 1-2 hours.
  4. Do not store glossy paint or let it sit out longer than a few hours.

  • This paint is super for painting pictures of sunsets, skies, oceans, & lakes
  • Makes a great "first paint" for young children

Lickable Finger Paint

This delicious creation is a fun way to introduce small children to finger painting


What you Need
  • 1/4 cup whipped cream
  • 2-4 drops food coloring
  • Freezer Paper



How to Make it
  1. Mix whipped cream & food coloring together in small bowl.
  2. Finger paint on the shiny side of the freezer paper. It works just as well as store bought finger painting paper & it's alot less expensive



Tips & Ideas
  • Add a drop of vanilla, peppermint, or banana extract to give the paint a wonderful scent and great taste!
