Dough Ornaments
A wonderful dough kids can use to create ornaments, beads & sculptures
What you Need
- 4 slices of white bread (with the crusts cut off)
- 4 Tbs. of white school glue
- 4-6 drops of food coloring
How to Make it
- Break the bread into small pieces and place in a bowl.
- Add white school glue & food coloring.
- Stir until blended together.
- Knead the mixture with your hands until it forms a soft dough.
- Sculpt the dough how you want it and let it dry overnight.
Tips & Ideas
- Rol the dough out on wax paper and cut differant shapes with cookie cutters.
- Use 1 Tbs of coffee instead of food coloring to give the dough an antique-like finish.

Salt Dough
This creation dries to an antique stone-like finish & is great for making small sculptures
What you Need
-
1 cup coffee grounds
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup salt
- 1 cup water
How to make it
- Mix coffee grounds, flour, & salt together in a small bowl.
- Add water and stir until the mixture turns into the consistency of a stiff clay.
- If the clay is too sticky, knead in more flour.
- Let the coffee dough sculptures air dry or bake them in the oven at 200 degrees for 45 minutes. Larger sculptures may take longer to dry.
Tips & Ideas
- Make Coffee Dough beads to create a neklace or bracelet that will dry to a stone like finish

Pottery Dough
This fun project is a great way to recycle crepe paper after a party or celebration
What you Need
- 1 roll crepe paper
- 1/2 cup flour
- 1/4 cup salt
- Large bowl of water
How to Make It
- Tear the roll of crepe paper into small pieces and soak it in the large bowl of water overnight until it turns into pulp.
- Drain the water off the pulp.
- Measure one packed cup of pulp into a bowl.
- Mix in flour and salt.
- Knead the mixture with your hand until it turns into a dough. If the dough is too sticky, add more flour
Tips and Ideas
- Use pottery dough to create beautiful tie-dye like beads for bracelets and necklaces.

3-D Play-Do Dough
You'll have hours of fun creating, molding, & squeezing this great smelling dough
What you Need
- 2 cups flour
- 1/2 cup salt
- 1 Tbs. liquid soap
- 6-8 drops food coloring
- Water>
How to Make It
- Mix flour, salt, liquid soap, & food coloring together in small bowl
- Slowly add water until a workable dough is formed. The amount of water will vary depending on the brand of liquid soap used.
- If the dough becomes too sticky, add more flour.
- Mold dough just as you would any other type of dough or clay.
Tips & Ideas
- Add a little color to your 3-D Play-Do Dough by adding 4-6 drops of food coloring to the ingredients before mixing.

Leftovers Dough
This idea came up when figuring out what to do with leftover mashed potatoes
What you Need
-
2 cups mashed potatoes
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 4-6 drops food coloring
How to Make It
- Mix mashed potatoes and flour together in a large bowl
- Add 4-6 drops food coloring and stir until the color is evenly blended
- Use Leftovers Dough as you would any other type of dough. Do not store or reuse potatoes.
Tips & Ideas
- Add a few drops of extract or 1 Tbs. of usweetened drink mix to give the dough a wide variety of differant scents and colors.If using drink mix, omit food coloring from this creation
