We were like "WOW" because afer looking at the menu we were going to LEAVE beause they were pretty expensive!! Then the owner says "Be sure and order whatever you want......Trust me...you can order the whole menu if you like! They come here all the time and are very rich." SO............I ordered the Lobster Tail and Justin got the Rack of Lamb. LOL
The owners bought us several drinks and so did everyone else in the whole restraunte. When we were done eating the waitstaff comes out and sings "Happy Anniversary" to us and gives us a chocolate sundae on the house and 2 glasses of champagne, along with a Happy Anniversary card from everyone there.
We were totally thrilled with the evening and wasn't expecting anything else. We were on our way out when Justin says "Let's go thank the couple and owners one more time". They were in the lounge/bar area where a piano player was playing piano and a woman was singing. We saw the couple and the owners sitting at the bar having a few drinks. There were about 10 tables in the lounge room and they were all but about 2 tables taken by people. As SOON as we walked through the doorway, everyone in the room started applauding and whistling at us. Of course it was mainly for Justin but it filled my heart with pride for my husband. The piano player said "Thank you" to Justin for fighting for our freedom and alot of really nice stuff that almost made him blush and that is pretty hard to do! He also thanked me for "supporting one of America's finest fighting men". The owners and the couple told us we couldn't leave and bought us more champagne. They put us at a table and brought a few roses to put in the center of the table. The lounge was candlelit and very romantic. After sitting there for a while the piano player started playing the "Marine Corps Hymm" and Justin stood up at attention for the duration of the song. Of course everyone aplauded again and they piano player asked me if we have a "song". Well our song is "Unforgettable" so I told him..........He began to play it and everyone was saying "C'mon dance" As we stood up to go dance by the fire place the woman began to sing our song. All eyes were on us the entire song but Justin and I didn't even notice. We were to wrapped up looking into each others eyes. When the song finished we told each other "I love you" and kissed. Everybody hooped and hallered. ha ha ha
When we finally decided to go we thanked the owners and the couple one last time and we talked for a little while. I was joking around and asked the couple what nights they were at the restraunte so we could be sure to come back on that night. LOL They said "we are here every saturday so come back!" As we were walking out the door neither of us could stop grinning and saying "I love you". We still talk about it and remember what a fairy tale it was. It was the most romantic night I think we have ever had.
Everytime we go anywhere and he is in his uniform, someone always buys us a drink or 2, or buys us dessert but nothing as big as our anniversary night.
On a humorous note.......I told him to wear his uniform EVERYWHERE we go!!!! LOL
I never thought I would have my own fairytale to share with anyone. Now I do and I will NEVER forget it!!
